Erica Montoya

aggie student

Hello, my name is Erica Montoya and I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Growing up I never thought about any careers that involve agriculture. However a former ambassador advised me to join the College of Agriculture and Home Economics because of its hands on learning and exciting opportunities available. I took there advise and I am currently a junior at New Mexico State University in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics studying Animal Science. My degree will allow me to follow a number of different dreams that I have set for myself. A couple of which are learning more about animal nutrition, which I have fell in love with currently, and the other is eventually attending medical school in hopes of one day becoming a Neonatologist.

As a College of Agriculture and Home Economics student I have been exposed to so many different organizations and have actively been involved in a number of different groups both on and off campus. In addition to being an Ambassador I am also a member of NSCS, Block and Bridle, Newman, and a big sister as part of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Las Cruces. With all of the activities I am involved in and all of the friends I have made here have allowed me the opportunity to truly enjoy my college life.
