Lets go Aggies! Hello I'm Lindsay Thomen, a junior here at New Mexico State University. I'm majoring in Agriculture and Community Development, the newest degree offered by the AXED department. I have been a resident of Las Cruces all my life and grew up on a pecan and chile farm just north of town. As a farm kid growing up in the mesilla valley, I became familiar with the College of Agriculture and Home Economics at an early age. I spent all my summers and weekends participating in various 4-H and FFA activities, which really helped connect me with the university and the AXED Department.

After I graduated highschool there was little debate on where I would further my educational career. I chose NMSU because of it's friendly and helpful faculty, it's numerous scholarship opportunities, and the chance to pursue almost any degree imagineable. NMSU has a staff to student ratio of 1 to 19, meaning that you actually get extra time to sit down with your professor face to face. Each of my professors has been extremely helpful when it comes to my learning and educational growth. In addition to the fabulous staff there is plenty of attainable scholarships. The excuse that College is out of reach because it is unaffordable can not be used when it comes to the CAHE! There are plenty of scholarship opportuinities out there. And when deciding your major the College of Agriculture and Home Economics will tailor a degree that best fits your dreams and aspirations! New Mexico State University has been one of the best choices that I've made.
