Breiter Elected VP for World Association

LAS CRUCES -- Deborah Breiter, assistant professor of hotel, restaurant, and tourism management at New Mexico State University, was elected vice president for industry relations by members of International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education.
Breiter will coordinate the council's activities with the American Hotel and Motel Association, the National Restaurant Association, and other industry associations. Her two-year term begins in August.
The council has more than 2,300 members in 50 countries representing education, industry, and professional associations. The council was founded in 1946 to advance education in the hospitality industry. Breiter serves on the council's strategic planning committee.
She succeeds her department head Patrick Moreo as vice president of the council. She came to NMSU in January 1994. She teaches lodging and hotel law, and conducts research on quality management.
