New Mexico 4-H Council Officers Elected

LAS CRUCES - Seven New Mexico 4-Hers were elected by fellow senior 4-H members to serve as 1997-98 New Mexico 4-H Council officers during the recent State 4-H Conference.
The new officers are: president, Stephanie Hefley of Las Cruces, daughter of Bobbie Gray; vice president, Alan Sisneros of Santa Rosa, son of Max and Michelle Sisneros; secretary, Jennifer Risley of Cedar Crest, daughter of Scott and Kathleen Risley; treasurer, Megan Grau of Grady, daughter of Wesley and Elnabeth Grau; reporter, Shay Willoughby of Melrose, daughter of Butch and De'Aun Willoughby; parliamentarian, Elberta Seybold of Espanola, daughter of Debbie Seybold; and song and recreation leader, Kevin Branum of Grants, son of James and Lynda Branum.
The officers will lead the state 4-H organization for the next year and conduct leadership workshops across the state. During the state fair, they will help with the junior livestock shows and sale and lead agriculture tours for elementary students. Officers also will assist with the Western Leadership Forum, put on Teen Get Away in March, and plan the 1998 State 4-H Conference.
The 4-H and Youth Development Program is a part of New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service. The advisor for the newly elected officers is Dynette McGuire, Extension home economist in Valencia County.
