LAS CRUCES - A variety of Lincoln County musicians and artists will demonstrate their skills on Sept. 12, during the second annual Arts in the Orchard event at La Finca Orchard.

"There will be a variety of musicians and artisans at Arts in the Orchard, including guitarists, singers, wood-carvers and tinsmiths," said Mike Cook, coordinator of New Mexico State University's Rural Economic Development Through Tourism (REDTT) project. "They also will be putting on live demonstrations."

REDTT is a project of NMSU's Cooperative Extension Service that promotes agriculture through tourism.

There also will be pie-making contests and tastings.

La Finca Orchard is located on U.S. Highway 70 at mile marker 281.6. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a $2 entrance fee.
